Old Snapshots

December’s north wind.
How quietly it blows.
Dried leaves dance in the wind,
cramped and craving ignorance.
Conditioned and nameless.
What is this mind?
Though I think not
to think about it, too much.
Within every word for silence,
a world of struggle.
Allow me another moment,
towards our ending.
In this house of nostalgia.

I asked about the snow

The cruel wind
always crooked
and twisted.
Rustles the
bright red ivy.
Piercing to death
the setting sun.
At the junction,
I fall hard and go deep.
No clouds are seen,
and it snows softly.
The wind seems
out of time and place.
A night, draped
all in peaceful love.
Just like all our yesterdays.

The magpies go by

On this Christmas Day,
I am drunk with hope
and distant kisses.
You cannot take
this from me.
And whilst a blue night
drops on the world.
I see from my window,
a magpie with wings.
Speaking words of joy.
And then, as if by magic.
One-by-one-the
statues disappear.

Christmas Eve in Xinxiang

So, it starts….
another Christmas eve.
I cannot count the cost
of all the faces lost.
White, blue, yellow, green, red.
Too many cold landscapes.
But I blinked my eyes,
and gave applause.
Snared again,
in a love impasse.
Like the fresh scent
of a summer breeze……

In the dark, new hope

In my awakened eye,
cold clouds bring rain.
All form is empty.

Through love,
a magical happening.
Falling stars seduce me again.

Released from rock,
emptiness fills.
A cool breeze flows from my lips.

Like a new born dripped
onto life’s eager path.
Seeking new taste and texture.

Laws of probability

Five million people
in the city.
But my thinking
is not the same.
A distance between us,
just like the movies.
From time-to-time
whirlpools spring-up.
Where finally unrequited
love flounders.
And the only answer
can be: no one.
Full stop.

Farewell false love

A weak wind all around.
Watching love sit
with a cold heart.
The teachers sat talking,
swollen with pride.
Same as yesterday,
and the day before.
They’ve all passed
anyway, they said.
One night, half my life
lay next to me.
And through
the great darkness,
truth in a glance appeared.
To captivate the
strong and honest.
And a much fitter world.
